The award-winning Austin Industries Mentor/Protégé Program works with D/M/W/BE firms to advance their initiatives through best practices, networking with business service providers and opportunities to work with Austin on major projects. Austin has a corporate team whose purpose is to identify minority, women-owned and disadvantaged businesses and provide mentoring and opportunities for those businesses to work on major projects.

Parsons Brinckerhoff

PB will serve in the lead design role as a subcontractor to Austin for the Blue Line Expansion-Rowlett design-build project. PB, founded in 1885, is one of the oldest continuously operating consulting engineering firms in the United States. PB is a privately held, employee-owned and operated corporation. With 11,500 employees, PB has the resources and expertise to handle virtually any transportation related assignment. PB is recognized for its full range of facilities and systems planning, design services, construction management, testing and start-up of transit systems. PB has local experience with DART and can also tap into its world-wide network to bring innovative thinking from experience with transit systems elsewhere. PB has recently completed subconsultant design services for DART’s NW-3 line section, in addition to providing transit related services to DART at its inception.

L.K. Comstock & Company, Inc.

L.K. Comstock & Company is one of the United States’ largest specialty electrical contractors and a subsidiary of RailWorks Corporation. Founded in 1904, the firm specializes in providing electrical and systems construction services for the transit industry. Comstock has a national footprint with installations on nearly all the major US transit systems including DART.
